I am pleased to provide this testimony in appreciation of Mr Edward MANIRAMPAYE, who taught me English at Kibenga Council High School in Burundi during the 2016–2017 and 2017–2018 school years.
During those formative years, Mr MANIRAMPAYE provided me with a solid foundation in English grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing and oral communication. Through clear and structured instruction, regular practice and constructive correction, he helped me develop English beyond a school subject into a practical tool for learning and communication.
His teaching was characterised by professionalism, discipline, patience, fairness and respect for learners. He maintained high academic standards while encouraging confidence, perseverance and intellectual curiosity. Beyond linguistic competence, he taught us the importance of precision, responsibility and respectful communication.
The English language foundation I acquired under Mr MANIRAMPAYE’s guidance has continued to support my academic and professional development. Although I later specialised in Library and Information Science in a predominantly French- and Kirundi-speaking academic environment, my knowledge of English remained valuable in accessing English-language resources and supporting independent learning.
This foundation has become particularly important in my professional career at Claude Intelligent School, where English is used for communication and instruction. Despite not having specialised in English at university, I am able to work effectively in this environment. I attribute an important part of this competence to the strong linguistic foundation established during the two years I studied under Mr Edouard MANIRAMPAYE.
